Weekend Homework

1. You need to complete the graphs. Distance vs Time AND Speed vs Time. You will need your completed graph for Monday's classwork.

2. Conduct your own "speed experiment." Figure out how fast you did something this weekend. You will need to know: how far you went (from home to Boston College, from your bed to the living room couch....) and how long it took you.

3. THEN, share your "experimental results" as a comment to this post. These will need to be posted by MIDNIGHT on SUNDAY.

    1. Nice question. I like how you listed your information, wrote the equation you were going to use, and then plugged the information in to solve for speed.

  2. On Saturday my mother and i went to South Shore Plaza, a mall in Braintree. From my mothers house to the mall it took us about 20 minutes to get there. We drove about 5 miles. But my brother drove my sisters and it took him 25 minutes to get there and he drove 3 miles. What was the speed for both my mom's and my brother's drive?

  3. On Saturday night, I went to a concert. I got to the venue at 8pm and there was already a HUGE line, that went all the way around the corner and down the street. But I waited anyway because my friends were already inside. I was about 105m away from the door when I got in line. I didn't get in to see the concert until after the band started playing, around 9:25pm. How fast did I move through the line?

    1. Smart maybe... but so slow! I can't believe it took you 2 whole minutes to get from your bed to your computer... is it because you sleep with your backpack on and it's very heavy?? :)

      Thank you for posting Johan!
